Upcoming Opportunities
Our next cohort of Woman Up! is here!
I still remember the early days of developing this program (back in January 2020) when I enlisted the support of a friend and colleague, Dr. Lisa Cook, whom I deeply respect and admire. She made the time to help me refine my rough framework, gave me feedback, and most importantly, inspired me to believe I could do it.
That’s what Woman Up! is all about—taking that same magic, that support, that belief in each other—and expanding it to a community of women who come together to learn, lead, and lift each other up.
If you’ve been thinking about joining, now is the time. Don’t hesitate—you deserve to invest in yourself!

Leadership Insights
DEI is Shifting
Over the last month, I’ve been hearing a lot about diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI)—but not in the way you’d hope. Companies and even the U.S. government seem to be sprinting away from anything that sounds or looks like DEI. It’s like watching a fire sale, but instead of clearing out old inventory, they’re tossing aside initiatives that actually matter.
So, let’s talk about it. In the next couple of weeks, I’ll be a guest on the Quiet Professional Podcast to dive deep into this topic. The host even mentioned that not many guests (actually none) have wanted to touch this conversation. But me? I say, bring it on.
Recently, I came across an incredible HBR article that hit home on why most DEI programs fail—and more importantly, what we need to do to make them better and sustainable. It reinforced exactly why I founded Woman Up! in the first place: because gender inequity is still deeply embedded in male-dominated industries. Woman Up! isn’t just about raising awareness—it’s about real solutions, real strategies, and real change that women, allies, and organizations can work on together to create workplaces that are truly empowering for everyone.
Let’s be clear: championing women doesn’t mean men have to lose. I’ve never believed in teaching inclusion as a zero-sum game. Inclusion is about expanding opportunities, not taking them away from others.
Back in 2020, when DEI was the hot topic, I had fellow consultants tell me I should pivot my entire business model to be DEI-focused. I flat-out refused. Why? Because I was already doing the work—just not the way many others were.
I never bought into performative DEI—the kind that floods training materials, websites, and marketing with buzzwords but lacks real impact. I didn’t push for one-off training that wasn’t aligned with business goals or failed to provide real behavioural shifts. Instead, I focused on real, transformative leadership—helping individuals and organizations create sustainable change without blame and shame.
Yes, we have tough conversations in our workshops—about power, privilege, and the different ways they’re perceived based on life experiences. But we foster these discussions in a way that encourages honest dialogue, humble inquiry, and motivational listening. Because at the end of the day, if leaders can’t have these conversations in a safe learning space, how will they ever navigate them in the workplace without triggering an HR nightmare?
DEI is evolving, and we’re standing at a major turning point. I’d love to hear your thoughts on where things are headed.
